Understand specification tradeoffs for Lasercheck® roughness systems
All Lasercheck sensors measure surface roughness on any material (rubber, glass, metals, and ceramics etc.) with repeatability of ± 3.0% of measured value. They measure roughness on several finishing processes (ground, sanded, polished, honed, super-finished, fine-turned, shot-blast, plasma spray). Area measured in a single measurement by all Lasercheck sensor heads is approximately 5 x 1 mm (0.2 x 0.04 in.). The Lasercheck sensors vary in measurement roughness range, the distance of the measurement head to the surface, and the variety of surface shapes that roughness can be measured on. Other differences include physical dimensions of the sensor, data output formats, power requirements, etc. See the data sheet for more information.
Below are several illustrations to assist customers in comparing the relative performance of Lasercheck sensors in specific categories. Please do not hesitate to contact Lasercheck if you need engineering support for product selection.
