A product line of Schmitt Industries, Inc.
The company (formerly Optical Dimensions) delivered its first model, the Lasercheck® 5872 on-line surface roughness measurement gage, in early 1994. Then in early 2000, the company introduced our second generation model, the Lasercheck® 6212 compact system, as a portable and affordable laser-based surface measurement sensor Our newest micro model 8826 was introduced in late 2006, designed for narrow cam & crankshaft measurements.
Lasercheck's patented “light scatter” based surface finish measurement gages are now in use by leading manufacturers in a variety of industries throughout the world.
In September, 2009 Optical Dimensions and the Lasercheck line of laser-based surface roughness gauges became a part of Schmitt Industries, Inc of Portland, Oregon, USA. Schmitt Industries designs, manufactures and markets highly precise test, measurement and process control systems for a wide variety of applications. Their other product lines include SBS grinding wheel balancers, Acuity laser distance sensors, Xact remote tank monitoring systems, and SMS texture measuring system.
